Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area or 5 years of equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in property & casualty insurance preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience supervising direct reports preferred.
  • Ability to design, document, and improve business processes.
  • Ability to coach and develop staff to excel in their job responsibilities.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from other leaders, business partners or clients.
  • Must have a good understanding of insurance principles and general accounting practices; can suggest solutions with a bottom line, measurable results.
  • Solid planning, leadership, and administration skills.
  • Attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with ability to create, navigate, and use Excel spreadsheets effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise premium accounting staff including hiring, training and evaluating employees’ performance.
  • Ensure daily premium accounting activities are completely fully and accurately, to include any vendor’s work.
  • Suggest process improvements for increasing team effectiveness, reducing costs, and improving processing efficiency.
  • Maintain monthly activity dashboards for management to communicate group performance.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure staff completes assigned tasks in accordance with Company policies and procedures and state specific statutes.
  • Participate in company initiatives and projects to improve business performance and customers’ ease of doing business.
  • Other duties as assigned.
