Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital project engineering within a food manufacturing or process industry environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing capital projects up to $10 million.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment selection, evaluation, and installation.
- Proficiency in electrical and mechanical system design, scope development, and execution.
- Experience in working with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive project success.
- In-depth understanding of food manufacturing processes, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, such as MS Project, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive three-year capital plan for all three manufacturing sites, aligning with business objectives and operational needs.
- Lead and manage capital projects ranging up to $20 million, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Evaluate, select, and procure manufacturing equipment, ensuring alignment with plant requirements and operational efficiencies.
- Oversee the electrical and mechanical scoping of projects, ensuring designs meet industry standards and regulatory compliance.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, installation, commissioning, and handoff to operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Procurement to ensure project success and seamless integration into existing processes.
- Engage with vendors and contractors to ensure adherence to project specifications and expectations.
- Implement and uphold best practices in project management, including risk assessment, timeline management, and cost control.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within capital project execution to enhance efficiency and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements related to capital projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with automation, PLCs, and process controls within a food manufacturing setting.
