Requirements
- Proven experience in designing, building, and managing large-scale distributed systems that support high-throughput, low-latency applications.
- Strong proficiency in at least one system programming language, such as C++, Java, Go, or Rust.
- Comprehensive understanding of computer systems, including operating systems, threading, networking, and modern hardware architecture, from a software engineering perspective.
- Effective cross-functional leadership abilities.
- Good communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Guide and shape the technological strategies to ensure the sustainable development of Pinterest’s online backend infrastructure.
- Champion engineering excellence and enhance the reputation of Pinterest’s engineering brand.
- Inspire and encourage the team to consistently improve the reliability, operability, scalability, efficiency, and performance of Pinterest’s serving stack.
- Spearhead projects aimed at scaling existing systems or developing new features to meet Pinterest’s business requirements.
