Principal Environmental Engineer

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 10+ years of related work experience
New York Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred, or ability/intent to obtain within 1 year
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
Strong independent work ethic, flexibility to adapt to rapidly shifting client priorities
Consulting business acumen, or interest in developing

Completes a variety of assignments such as preparing design drawings, technical specifications for procurement and construction, technical presentations, leading meetings, and developing work products for client and regulatory agency reviews
Reviews contract submittals and performs technical bid analyses
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances
Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and junior-level Engineers working on the same project
Support Proposal efforts for new opportunities
Provide mentorship and development of Junior Engineering staff
This role may involve significant client interactions in technical presentations, meetings, and development of work products anticipated for both client and regulatory agency review
Ability to collaborate and cross-sell with other Parsons engineering divisions including Federal, Transportation, and infrastructure groups

Ambition to learn the business side of the industry and work towards leadership positions within 5 years
