Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in QA or a related engineering field
- Proficient with systems programming, especially C and C++
- Able to read code critically, with an emphasis on bugs, security, and performance
- Strong grasp of operating system concepts and TCP/IP networking
- Experience using debuggers such as GDB, LLDB, and dbx
- Comfortable with Windows, Mac, and Unix, especially AIX and Linux
Responsibilities
- Act as the product’s first customer in a customer-first company
- Provide early feedback on new features and advocate for the best user experience, from design through implementation to deployment
- Acquire expertise on features and the code that implements them in close partnership with Development
- Craft functional, integration, and stress tests, automating them whenever possible
- Assist Support in the reproduction and diagnosis of customer-reported problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Source control using Perforce, Git, or similar
- Unix system administration and shell scripting
- Virtualization and containers
- Compiler theory and bytecode interpreter concepts
- Performance testing
- Read at least one technical book a year
