Requirements
- BS Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 8 years of engineering or aerospace experience, or 5 years with an advance degree
- Diverse Structures experience including analytical methods (FEA), hand calculations, and spreadsheet methods
- Experience analyzing strength, stress, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance
- Experience working to HSE rotating structures standards (disks or blades)
- U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required
Responsibilities
- Utilize state of the art analytical methods to validate the structural integrity of Hot Section rotating hardware (disks and blades)
- Be part of an integrated product team with responsibilities for executing FEMs, performing lifing analyses, and writing technical reports
- Directly responsible for planning, execution and completions of GTF HPT CIPT structural analysis supporting post-certification analysis activities (may include TOW and powder nickel recovery)
- Communicate technical progress and status to various program groups, senior management, as well as internal / external customers
- Support strategic development and growth of Structures discipline health
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and trending skills
- Advanced proficiency with ANSYS APDL and / or Workbench
- Advanced knowledge of LCF, TMF, HCF & FM failure modes
- Familiarity with P&W Structures tools and procedures
- Demonstrated leadership in engineering continuous improvement
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
