Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation, materials handling equipment, industrial engineering, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed design decisions in capital intensive programs over various time scales.
  • Strong understanding of operations / manufacturing concepts such as rate, throughput, buffer, MTBF, MTTR, OEE, time studies, etc.
  • Strong understanding of network design, topology, graph theory, etc.
  • Ability to lead and manage complex engineering projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and independently in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent product engineering for the full lifecycle of a project, from pre-sales system design through implementation and handoff to the customer.
  • Collaborate with product engineering, product management, sales, operations, and other stakeholders to develop and refine system-level designs and solutions.
  • Analyze system performance, identify potential issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure system reliability and robustness.
  • Communicate, build consensus, and maintain continuity of technical ownership within a large and varied group of stakeholders, including vendors, partners, customers, and other internal departments.
  • Manage simulation efforts to validate performance of different sized systems, from new features to entire building systems.
  • Certifying that sites achieve design specifications after go-live.
  • Identifying discrepancies between SOW metrics and system performance.
  • Onboarding new customers, WMS providers, and integration partners to ensure standard software and hardware interfaces.
  • Build and maintain a library of best practices, design guides, and integration documents to streamline solution design process.
  • Pre-sales site layout and topology to ensure that each cell has sufficient conveyor input and output to achieve its potential.
