Requirements
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Experience with performing secure system and subsystem design, requirements decomposition and management, technical risk management, interface definition, integration and test, and discipline level management
- Experience using the Atlassian resource suite, specifically: Jira and Confluence
- Experience with Agile development methodology
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a dynamic team: Work alongside passionate and skilled professionals, as well as key internal and external stakeholders, to drive system engineering design and development for our cutting-edge Cross Domain Solutions product
- Lead secure system development: Engage in every phase of the secure systems development lifecycle, ensuring that customer requirements are efficiently translated into robust system and subsystem designs, all while balancing technical, scheduling, and cost constraints
- Manage cost and schedule: Take charge of cost account management for your assigned scope, closely tracking and reporting on costs, schedules, and key performance metrics to contribute to program earned value metrics and overall project success
- Drive Agile execution: Play an active role in Agile team ceremonies, facilitating sprint reviews, refining user stories, and leading end-of-sprint product demos to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with program goals
- Contribute to Agile leadership: Participate in a rotating role as Scrum Master or Product Owner, helping shape the development cadence and execution plans that guide our Agile teams toward success
- Lead technical conversations: Serve as a technical leader, guiding discussions with the program team and external customers, providing strategic insight and ensuring all technical and operational objectives are met
- Mentor and support colleagues: Actively mentor fellow engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment while assisting with onboarding and training to elevate the team’s capabilities
- Maintain program excellence: Develop, maintain, and refine critical program ceremonies, documentation, and designs to ensure the continued success and integrity of the program
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools
- Systems engineering experience executing development of security hardened systems/products within a classified development environment
- Systems experience in platform certifications as it pertains to secure communications applications
- Ability to take on visible leadership role such as Scrum Master or Product Owner
- Background and/or knowledge of Cross Domain Solutions and NCDSMO Raise-The-Bar
