Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience
  • Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) processes
  • Experience independently executing functional responsibilities for small to medium sized programs
  • Experience with creation of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and maintainability analyses (MTBF, MTTR, etc.)
  • Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative reliability and maintainability analyses
  • Experience with Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Responsibilities

  • Leading the Reliability & Maintainability engineering effort
  • Performing reliability prediction calculations, management, and performance measurements
  • Producing critical item lists and reliability maintenance plans
  • Supporting testing and analysis needed to generate MTBF results
  • Developing Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System processes
  • Authoring all program Reliability & Maintainability CDRLs
  • Advising Engineering on all aspects of Reliability & Maintainability engineering
  • Communicating status of the Reliability & Maintainability engineering program to the customer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to independently execute functional responsibilities for large programs
  • Understanding of Military Specifications and Standards
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Experience improving reliability and maintainability through design changes, fault detection, usage restrictions, and training
  • Experience writing analyses to meet regulation- or customer-driven requirements
  • Experience tailoring analyses or requirements to fit size, complexity, schedule, and budget of program
