Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experience
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
- Advanced analytical skills
- Extensive knowledge of Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) processes
- Experience independently executing functional responsibilities for small to medium sized programs
- Experience with creation of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and maintainability analyses (MTBF, MTTR, etc.)
- Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative reliability and maintainability analyses
- Experience with Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Responsibilities
- Leading the Reliability & Maintainability engineering effort
- Performing reliability prediction calculations, management, and performance measurements
- Producing critical item lists and reliability maintenance plans
- Supporting testing and analysis needed to generate MTBF results
- Developing Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System processes
- Authoring all program Reliability & Maintainability CDRLs
- Advising Engineering on all aspects of Reliability & Maintainability engineering
- Communicating status of the Reliability & Maintainability engineering program to the customer
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to independently execute functional responsibilities for large programs
- Understanding of Military Specifications and Standards
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Experience improving reliability and maintainability through design changes, fault detection, usage restrictions, and training
- Experience writing analyses to meet regulation- or customer-driven requirements
- Experience tailoring analyses or requirements to fit size, complexity, schedule, and budget of program
