Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or equivalent environment preferred.
- Solid background in statistical methods, systematic experiment design, and related software (e.g. JMP, Minitab, etc.).
- Ability to synthesize and interpret complex data sets to understand physical phenomena and support data-driven decisions.
- Ability to safely and confidently operate and troubleshoot custom manufacturing and metrology equipment.
- Independent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills and new technology.
- Strong organization skills and detail-oriented mindset.
- Able to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced start-up setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple interdisciplinary technology projects from ideation phase through full implementation with minimal oversight.
- Achieve results through working with and guiding less experienced engineers and technicians.
- Developing novel, robust processes for manufacturing flexible circuits.
- Working hands-on with high-volume manufacturing and R&D tools; Qualifying new tools and processes on the manufacturing line.
- Identifying key process metrics and establishing statistical process control at workstations.
- Developing and implementing metrology methods to measure tool health and process performance data.
- Documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training staff to perform processes correctly and safely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of and process experience with pressure-sensitive, UV curable, thermoset, and thermoplastic adhesives and their processing (i.e. lamination).
- Prior experience with roll-to-roll processing.
- Prior experience with lithography or related circuit patterning technology.
- Prior start-up experience.
