Requirements

• 6+ years’ experience in national or major media markets
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study preferred
• Keen news judgment
• Love of journalism
• Extensive knowledge of basic television news production
• Ability to use non-linear editing software
• Understanding of what makes a strong VO
• Ability to write clear, concise and urgent scripts

Responsibilities

• Handle a variety of key tasks essential to the success of the daily program
• Line producing responsibilities — managing the rundown, keeping the show on time, coordinating with control room and technical staff, and making real-time editorial decisions during broadcasts
• Proficiency in non-linear video editing, with the ability to quickly produce high-impact content under deadline pressure
• Fill in for the supervising producer, helping oversee show flow, assigning stories, and coordinating with teams across platforms
• Identify the strongest content across platforms — from TV to digital and social — and determine what’s most relevant and engaging for the program’s audience
