Requirements
- Post-secondary degree/diploma, preferably in industrial technology or engineering, business administration, or management
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability in order to successfully manage a diverse group of employees
- Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and analytical skills
- Proven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team building talent
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an asset
- Must be able to work a 10 or 12 hour rotating shift(days/nights), including some future weekends
Responsibilities
- Lead a positive change effort to improved performance by motivating, recognizing and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in their activities
- Champion hazard identification, evaluation and control through the behavior-based safety and risk assessment programs
- Lead daily safety share, encourage, and recognize all safety behavior
- Increase employee engagement and improve the labor relations climate through participation in continuous improvement (get suggestions, report problems, participate in team problem solving sessions)
- Identify and coordinate trainings for production employee, (Job training with STD work description, SOP and WI, Safety training, STOP. FLRA and all others safety programs)
- Ensure proper documentation and complete reports (compliance, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc.)
- Evaluate employee performance monthly with coaching and support to achieve results
- Continually improve the operational efficiency of the plant by submitting ideas and solutions
- Ensure a rigorous follow-up of all 5S
- Communicate efficiently between all departments and all staff
- For all breakdown or needed plant repairs, make efficiently a service request to maintenance dept. as soon as possible
- Approve timecards, absences and all other Workday requirements
- All other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an asset
