Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma, preferably in industrial technology or engineering, business administration, or management
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment, 3 of which must be in a supervisory role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with hands-on problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership ability in order to successfully manage a diverse group of employees
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and analytical skills
  • Proven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagement, demonstrated team building talent
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an asset
  • Must be able to work a 10 or 12 hour rotating shift(days/nights), including some future weekends

Responsibilities

  • Lead a positive change effort to improved performance by motivating, recognizing and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in their activities
  • Champion hazard identification, evaluation and control through the behavior-based safety and risk assessment programs
  • Lead daily safety share, encourage, and recognize all safety behavior
  • Increase employee engagement and improve the labor relations climate through participation in continuous improvement (get suggestions, report problems, participate in team problem solving sessions)
  • Identify and coordinate trainings for production employee, (Job training with STD work description, SOP and WI, Safety training, STOP. FLRA and all others safety programs)
  • Ensure proper documentation and complete reports (compliance, checklists, production reports, spreadsheets, metrics, incident investigations, etc.)
  • Evaluate employee performance monthly with coaching and support to achieve results
  • Continually improve the operational efficiency of the plant by submitting ideas and solutions
  • Ensure a rigorous follow-up of all 5S
  • Communicate efficiently between all departments and all staff
  • For all breakdown or needed plant repairs, make efficiently a service request to maintenance dept. as soon as possible
  • Approve timecards, absences and all other Workday requirements
  • All other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an asset
