Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production roles
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of production workers in the rendering department, including assigning tasks, providing guidance and training, and evaluating performance.
  • Coordinate production activities to meet daily production targets, ensuring compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment performance, identifying and addressing issues to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Train new employees on production processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, facilities, and production areas, identifying maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and implementing corrective actions to resolve production problems and prevent recurrence.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and regulations in all production activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, including maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics, to coordinate activities, address production-related issues, and support plant operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing changes to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve product quality and yield.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production reports, downtime logs, and quality control records, using computerized systems and manual documentation as needed.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor production teams, prioritize tasks, and solve problems effectively.
  • Knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality standards in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed to support production schedules and operational requirements.
