Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
- Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications and manufacturing principles
- Experience in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment
- Prior experience with electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
- Basic skills in assembly, soldering, and connectors
- Computer literate with experience in Windows and Office products, and ability to learn new specialized in-house applications as required
- Ability to take instruction and work side-by-side with advanced technicians to learn new skills
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical/electrical assembly from engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and other production documentation.
- Ability to interpret and work from drawings, manuals, handbooks, and technical specifications.
- Work on printed circuit boards (PCB), circuit card assemblies (CCA), and follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently.
- Completion and finalization of CCAs after machine manufacture to include separation of PCBs from larger panels, labeling, masking, and conformal coating.
- Have good hand eye coordination and be able to use a variety of standard hand tools, soldering irons, and the ability to work under a microscope.
- Inspect assembly work for self and other team members per appropriate standards.
- Work with engineers to identify issues with new products and improve them.
- Knowledge of proper ESD controls.
- Must be detail and quality oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10-Hour Training certification
- IPC J-STD-001 certification.
- Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education and certifications.
- Electronic component identification knowledge.
- Experience with personal protection equipment (PPE), respirator for conformal coat spraying in particular, and/or spray booth experience.
- Able to work in an organized, clean work environment to 5S standards.
- Military electronic assembly background.
- Background in the aerospace or defense industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
