Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications and manufacturing principles
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production or warehouse environment
  • Prior experience with electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
  • Basic skills in assembly, soldering, and connectors
  • Computer literate with experience in Windows and Office products, and ability to learn new specialized in-house applications as required
  • Ability to take instruction and work side-by-side with advanced technicians to learn new skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical/electrical assembly from engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and other production documentation.
  • Ability to interpret and work from drawings, manuals, handbooks, and technical specifications.
  • Work on printed circuit boards (PCB), circuit card assemblies (CCA), and follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Completion and finalization of CCAs after machine manufacture to include separation of PCBs from larger panels, labeling, masking, and conformal coating.
  • Have good hand eye coordination and be able to use a variety of standard hand tools, soldering irons, and the ability to work under a microscope.
  • Inspect assembly work for self and other team members per appropriate standards.
  • Work with engineers to identify issues with new products and improve them.
  • Knowledge of proper ESD controls.
  • Must be detail and quality oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-Hour Training certification
  • IPC J-STD-001 certification.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education and certifications.
  • Electronic component identification knowledge.
  • Experience with personal protection equipment (PPE), respirator for conformal coat spraying in particular, and/or spray booth experience.
  • Able to work in an organized, clean work environment to 5S standards.
  • Military electronic assembly background.
  • Background in the aerospace or defense industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
