Requirements

  • BA/BS strongly preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Prior Direct Support Professional experience preferred
  • Background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed writing skills
  • Takes initiative
  • Highly flexible personality type
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred depending on location
  • Flexibility to respond to calls and programmatic needs beyond regular work hours

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring health, safety, and habilitation of the people we support consistent with agency philosophy and department practices.
  • Ensuring the appropriate, therapeutically documented level of supervision in the residence, day program or community to ensure and protect the health and/or safety of the people we support.
  • Providing program/floor coverage, when necessary.
  • Promoting and maintaining the excellence of the programs.
  • Developing professional, empathic relationships with family members ensuring they are included in the team process.
  • Leading and facilitating interdisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings to ensure effective communication.
  • Attend regional and agency supervisor meeting or as directed by your supervisor.
  • Attending and actively participating in the planning meeting for the people we support.
  • Fostering interagency collaboration.
  • Bringing the organizational culture to life.
  • Ensuring a work environment that is free from harassment and discrimination.
  • Playing an active role in the hiring process; interviewing and selecting appropriate staff based on program needs.
  • Maintaining direct relationship with staff.
  • Building staff morale.
  • Fostering professional development through regular supervision, training, and evaluations.
  • Supervising staff to ensure they are meeting the needs of the people we support and agency standards.
  • Utilizing participatory management.
  • Fostering the Open-Door Policy.
  • Maintaining oversight and compliance of systems specific to role and responsibilities.
  • Fostering communication and maintaining professional between relevant supports including those within the program, within the agency, and supports outside the agency.
  • Overseeing all financial systems, maintaining records for the people we support and program expenditures.
  • Operating the program within budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintaining a safe environment for staff and the people we support and reporting any hazardous conditions.
  • Ensuring the completion and maintenance of all paperwork and written records related to individual treatment.
  • Reporting and monitoring incidents, as well as assist with the investigative process.
  • Required to perform your responsibilities as they currently exist or may change in meeting the needs of the department, under the supervision of your supervisor/manager.

Preferred Qualifications
