Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent, with 15+ years of experience in design and/or construction practice preferred. Licensed professional preferred.
  • 5 years of proven experience in complex project-specific parametric BIM workflow from start to finish in all phases of design and delivery.
  • Expert knowledge of, and proven practical background in, Autodesk Revit Architecture and related BIM software (Navisworks, Revizto, BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud Workflow)
  • Knowledge of design applications such as SketchUp, Rhino, Visual Programming (Dynamo / Grasshopper), Project Visualization tools, Generative Design tools and how they may best work together.
  • Expert in implementing and supporting design collaboration platforms such as design authoring tools in a virtual environment, Panzura collaboration, AEC cloud-based products (ACC, Docs, Coordinate and Build).
  • Articulate communicator, able to convey Design Technology concepts to all levels of design and delivery leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to listen and drive consensus through relationship building and ability to bring project teams to work together across the globe.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion and to set priorities and manage competing demands.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and management in Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) and BIM Implementation / Execution on large complex projects.
  • Prioritize and align the project design technology initiatives with the impact of the project delivery needs.
  • Understanding the appropriate roles of an Owner-Architect-Contractor (O-A-C) team, and O-A-C collaborative IPD project delivery model.
  • Authoring, advisory, and executing BIM and Design Technology Implementation Strategy on large complex projects.
  • Ability to articulate and report on key performance indicators of Design Technology practices across all projects involved.
  • Lead design teams, as well as construction teams through a properly executed Design Technology Strategy.
  • Meet regularly with all project stakeholders including Client, Construction Manager team, and individual BIM Managers.
  • Work with Project Teams Leadership to review contracts, BEP, Project Standards, and other documents to address the Digital Design aspect for project delivery.
  • Work with the Regional Design Technology Leadership to incorporate workflows, best practices and content shared across the project and firm.
  • Oversee the implementation of training needs within the project team.
  • Lead a rigorous implementation of collaboration platforms like Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Execution of digital fluency between applications to eliminate digital waste.
  • Agile production workflows using automation and similar techniques to approach complex tasks and problem solving.
