Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or related field
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- 5+ years engineering experience working with complex systems
- Experience with configuration control of complex electro-mechanical systems. Military or aerospace systems highly preferred.
- Ability to understand dynamic control architectures, performance simulations, hardware drawings, schematics, and device specifications
- Good problem solving, abstraction, and presentation skills
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance, if required
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute the design and development phase of turreted weapon systems from contract award through transition into production
- Lead the technical team by providing guidance to the systems, mechanical, electrical, and software design engineers to ensure the resulting solution meets the performance and programmatic needs
- Lead the development, prototyping, integration, and debugging of complex systems consisting of mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems
- Maintain the appropriate level of configuration management of the design throughout the program, including ensuring an accurate Bill of Material
- Coordinate and contribute to technical reports, data items, and presentations
- Develop test plans for internal use and customer acceptance and assembly work instructions, and define tooling and test equipment needs
- Work with supply chain to identify options that support the needs of the program
- Support field testing
- Support proposal, business development, and continuous improvement activities
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with military ground-mobile applications
- Experience with turreted weapon systems
- Working knowledge of small/medium caliber direct fire weapons
- Experience with target acquisition systems (sights, range finders, etc.)
