Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and participate in negotiations
- Demonstrates ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Secure all required state Claims Adjuster licenses (an exam may be required) within six months
Responsibilities
- Assists in managing an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability/liability
- Assists in planning and conducting claims investigations to confirm coverage and to determine liability, compensability and damages
- Learns to determine and negotiate appropriate claim settlements/reserves within prescribed authority
- Learns to authorize payments in accordance with assigned authority limit and ensures payments are made in a timely manner
- Maintains accurate and detailed claim files, including all correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements
- Successfully completes all coursework/education as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
