Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in QA within the video game industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing QA teams and processes in a dynamic development environment.
- Experience in developing high-quality test plans and reports, with a deep understanding of quality assurance techniques, tools, and trends.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership for the QA department, setting clear objectives aligned with the studio’s goals. Develop and implement a strategic QA framework that integrates seamlessly with the development lifecycle.
- Evaluate and improve QA processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptability.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the internal studio stakeholders, external teams/ partners and the QA department, to ensure clear communication and timely resolution of quality issues.
- Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting, maintaining high standards throughout the development cycle.
- Drive continuous improvement within the QA department using data and feedback to enhance processes and team performance.
- Provide comprehensive reports on QA activities, progress, and key metrics to studio leadership, using data analysis to guide decisions and process improvements.
- Identify areas of manual QA coverage that are candidates for optimization or automation by test engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with QA automation tools and practices is a plus.
- Experience with QA for multiplayer games utilizing a client/server model.
