Requirements

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years involvement in the inspection of detailed parts is preferred
  • 2 years knowledge of special processes (ex. Heat treat, chemical conversions, painting, metrology) is preferred
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve parts from the incoming rack for inspection
  • Inspect parts for accuracy and completeness according to drawing and work order
  • Create tags in SAP and Transport Canada Authorized Release Certificate for detailed parts that pass inspection
  • Issue an NC and conduct Containment on affected parts that do not pass inspection
  • Complete FAI reports per the requirements of AS9102
  • Meet the daily/weekly Inspection KPI as set for the teams
  • Undergo all applicable mandatory training as required to maintain the Inspection Authorities
  • Participate in root cause and problem solving investigations as required for CARs, NCs, Audit findings etc.
  • Separate parts into individual kits and input data onto packing slip/Kit List
  • Verify work order and drawing package are accurate and current
  • Create tag and/or Authorized Release Certificate for all completed kits
  • Package completed kits individually and submit to warehouse with work order tear-off
  • Input information for creating Permission Letters and ensure kits are current and valid for model type of aircraft
  • Ensure part information is entered on computer generated form for Authorized Release Certificates
  • Maintain the site Calibration Register
  • Create Monthly/Weekly Recall lists and be accountable for the retrieval of gauges for calibration
  • Coordinate calibration efforts by third party calibration providers with Procurement support
  • Review calibration reports and initiate Calibration Deviation Reports based on failures identified
