Requirements
- Basic understanding of engineering principles, quality control processes and manufacturing workflows
- Ability to identify defects, inconsistencies or process deviations
- Strong analytical thinking to troubleshoot quality issues and suggest solutions
- Ability to document findings, write reports and effectively communicate with teams
- High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and an aptitude for learning new software packages.
- Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing production lines and devising test procedures to identify manufacturing deficiencies that cause quality control issues.
- Developing standards for the department.
- Documenting how systems work and analyzing the state of the system.
- Writing, executing and managing test cases.
- Process documentation, workflows, process improvement, and help build standards.
- Forming tools and ideas needed for day-to-day management.
- Participating in designing metrics for measuring performance and process improvements.
- Providing suppliers with technical oversight and expertise in areas such as Process Development, Lean Six Sigma tools, Measurement Systems, Preventive Maintenance, and Mistake Proofing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Familiarity with tools like calipers, micrometers or CMM
- Internship or project experience in quality engineering, manufacturing or product testing
