Requirements

  • Operating machines with coaching
  • Safety and quality standards for operating machines
  • Reading and writing, and fluently conversant in the language of communication as appropriate to the site
  • Collaborating well in a diverse work environment
  • Post-Secondary diploma in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance area is required, Biology, chemistry, Food Science and natural sciences preferred
  • 2 years minimum work experience in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that raw and packaging materials conform to their specifications
  • Aid in the disposition of non-conforming materials by helping to maintain the hold/release program
  • Responsible for Allergen control program and Site Kosher Program
  • Ensure Equipment calibration and verification program will adhere to company standard
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and organized lab
  • Ensure that test equipment and inspection processes are routinely checked for accuracy
  • Conduct traceability audits as required and work with plant employees to ensure that any deviations are communicated and followed up on
  • Enter data in Plant Systems and maintain Quality Computer Systems (SAP and QS) to ensure accuracy
  • Perform micro-swabbing at different areas and maintain/track results and deviations. Log corrective actions
  • Technical support to production departments in troubleshooting of production/packaging problems
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Department Leader

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills (Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams) including Windows software and plant informational systems (SAP, SharePoint)
  • Knowledge of packaging material will be considered as an asset
  • Demonstrated interest and concern for quality and keen observation skills and a keen desire to learn
  • Team player with a positive attitude, working well with others
  • Experience in basic lab equipment, preferably with work experience in a scientific environment
