Quality Lab Technician

Operating machines with coaching
Safety and quality standards for operating machines
Reading and writing, and fluently conversant in the language of communication as appropriate to the site
Collaborating well in a diverse work environment
Post-Secondary diploma in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance area is required, Biology, chemistry, Food Science and natural sciences preferred
2 years minimum work experience in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance environment is preferred

Ensure that raw and packaging materials conform to their specifications
Aid in the disposition of non-conforming materials by helping to maintain the hold/release program
Responsible for Allergen control program and Site Kosher Program
Ensure Equipment calibration and verification program will adhere to company standard
Responsible for maintaining clean and organized lab
Ensure that test equipment and inspection processes are routinely checked for accuracy
Conduct traceability audits as required and work with plant employees to ensure that any deviations are communicated and followed up on
Enter data in Plant Systems and maintain Quality Computer Systems (SAP and QS) to ensure accuracy
Perform micro-swabbing at different areas and maintain/track results and deviations. Log corrective actions
Technical support to production departments in troubleshooting of production/packaging problems
Any other duties as assigned by the Department Leader

Strong computer skills (Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams) including Windows software and plant informational systems (SAP, SharePoint)
Knowledge of packaging material will be considered as an asset
Demonstrated interest and concern for quality and keen observation skills and a keen desire to learn
Team player with a positive attitude, working well with others
Experience in basic lab equipment, preferably with work experience in a scientific environment
