Requirements
- Operating machines with coaching
- Safety and quality standards for operating machines
- Reading and writing, and fluently conversant in the language of communication as appropriate to the site
- Collaborating well in a diverse work environment
- Post-Secondary diploma in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance area is required, Biology, chemistry, Food Science and natural sciences preferred
- 2 years minimum work experience in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance environment is preferred
Responsibilities
- Ensure that raw and packaging materials conform to their specifications
- Aid in the disposition of non-conforming materials by helping to maintain the hold/release program
- Responsible for Allergen control program and Site Kosher Program
- Ensure Equipment calibration and verification program will adhere to company standard
- Responsible for maintaining clean and organized lab
- Ensure that test equipment and inspection processes are routinely checked for accuracy
- Conduct traceability audits as required and work with plant employees to ensure that any deviations are communicated and followed up on
- Enter data in Plant Systems and maintain Quality Computer Systems (SAP and QS) to ensure accuracy
- Perform micro-swabbing at different areas and maintain/track results and deviations. Log corrective actions
- Technical support to production departments in troubleshooting of production/packaging problems
- Any other duties as assigned by the Department Leader
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong computer skills (Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams) including Windows software and plant informational systems (SAP, SharePoint)
- Knowledge of packaging material will be considered as an asset
- Demonstrated interest and concern for quality and keen observation skills and a keen desire to learn
- Team player with a positive attitude, working well with others
- Experience in basic lab equipment, preferably with work experience in a scientific environment
