Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing or equivalent experience with an excellent understanding of quality management practices is desired.
- Three to five years of job-related experience are required.
- Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
Responsibilities
- Supervise personnel responsible for preventing quality problems through the development and maintenance of quality metrology measurement equipment.
- Manage Gage Lab, Air Tool Repair, and Torque Tool processes.
- Set priorities and establish inspection schedules for Air Tool, Torque Tool, and Metrology equipment and process.
- Ensure conformity to global quality processes defined in the Caterpillar Quality Management System (QMS).
- Manage the execution and adherence of procedures in calibration and metrology principles as applied to multiple measurement disciplines.
- Train, motivate, and develop employees, instructing them on how to determine the quality of work with the aids of inspection gauges and blueprints.
- Engage with Component Groups, Global Quality resources, and Facility Management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Supervisory Experience.
- Coordinate Metrology Society’s (CMS) quality certification.
- Knowledge of shop operations and maintenance procedures is required.
