Requirements
- 5 + years of experience developing and characterizing experimental quantum devices in an R&D environment
- Experience with studying experimental quantum optics, superconducting systems, or AMO physics
- Experience authoring, editing, and proof-reading technical papers, presentations, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of standard nanofabrication techniques, including lithography, etching, or deposition
- Ability to travel at least 10% of the time
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic technical consultant to program managers at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)
- Help oversee the creation and execution of advanced government-funded research and development (R&D) programs in microsystems design for quantum sensing applications
- Work with world-class scientists and engineers to identify program goals and metrics that will enable mission success
- Maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs
- Assist with the management of current programs
- Facilitate the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders
- Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with defense R&D
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possession of excellent organization and client service skills
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
- Doctorate degree in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
