Requirements
- Previous acute care clinical experience required
- Critical Care, PACU or ED experience required
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Must have active South Carolina RN license
- Must be BLS and ACLS certified
Responsibilities
- Prioritize patient rounding and assessments with bedside nursing collaboration
- Utilize MEWS scores, prior medical history and admission location information, and other indicators for high risk patients to prioritize assessment
- Evaluate patient care and hospital practices in MUSC inpatient settings to ensure compliance with hospital policies/procedures and evidence-based practices
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure staff, patient and visitor public health safety
- Respond to any Code Blue and Rapid Response notifications, BAT Alerts, and nurse driven request for clinical evaluation and other indicators as needed or directed
- Assess high-risk patients based on clinical indicators, previous critical care admissions/transfers, and PMH each shift
- Coach real time and provide education to staff regarding appropriate MEWS scores, high-risk indicators, assessments of Code Blue and Rapid Response notifications
- Collaborate with clinical staff, including but not limited to, nurses, Patient Care Technicians, Hospitalist Medicine providers, ICU Intensivists and Pulmonologists
