Requirements

  • RN, NP/PA, PharmD or similar healthcare credential. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 7+ years of professional experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience delivering health education or community outreach.
  • Deep ties or lived experience with underserved communities (e.g., Black, Latinx, rural, socio-economically or medically disenfranchised populations)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of cultural humility and health disparities

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient education on rare kidney disease (FSGS and IgAN) and facilitate connections to patient advocacy and support groups
  • Provide disease awareness education to nurses, NPs/PAs, pharmacists, dialysis center staff, case managers, and social workers
  • Conduct or coordinate speaker-led educational sessions for healthcare teams and community groups
  • Help identify undiagnosed or misdiagnosed FSGS cases by increasing disease awareness
  • Build bridges between community-based nephrologists, primary care, and rural practices
  • Collaborate with Travere Rare Kidney Community Patient Activators (RKCPA) to support and amplify patient voices
  • Partner with groups like NephCure, BlackHealthMatters.com, the American Kidney Fund, and the Kidney Health Initiative
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Patient Advocacy, Commercial, Market Access, and Medical Affairs to align on patient and provider needs
  • Support field strategy by identifying opportunities to raise disease awareness, surface insights, and enable access to underserved or hard-to-reach accounts
  • Provide feedback from the field on barriers to care, educational gaps, and community needs to help inform strategic planning and resource deployment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in nephrology, rare diseases, or community-based care
  • Bilingual or multilingual capabilities preferred
  • Existing relationships with dialysis centers or nephrology practices
  • Well organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional teamwork environment
  • Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage complexity
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to adapt to modification and changes to project plans, demonstrating flexibility to implement new strategies and tactics to accommodate these changes
  • Ability to travel 60% domestically
  • Fluency in Mandarin desired
