Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years’ experience in a molecular lab in Biotech
- Highly organized and systematic, superb attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
- Proven ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to new processes smoothly
- Hands-on experience with any of the following molecular methods is highly desired: Library preparation methods for NGS, DNA hybrid capture, PCR methods such as: PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR, Nucleic acid ligations, Nucleic acid analysis such as: quantitation by absorbance/fluorescence, capillary electrophoresis, Magnetic bead-based DNA/RNA purification and size selection
Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of senior scientific staff, support the assay development of cutting-edge molecular assays for our high-throughput CAP/ CLIA/ NYSDOH accredited clinical lab
- Assist in troubleshooting and quality control initiatives
- Assist with testing and development of automated processes enabling automation and scale up of manual protocols
- Execute molecular protocols with a high degree of precision and attention to detail
- Generate detailed documentation of experimental execution
- Process clinical samples through wet lab workflows
- Development of new or alternate methods, reagents, equipment and processes for continuous improvement
- Experimental design, data analysis, writing SOP’s, generating reports and presentations
- Travel within US 1-3 times per year
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands on experience with Next Generation Sequencing
- Hands on experience with robotics and automated liquid handling systems
- Knowledge of LIMS platforms and various computer systems
