Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or 5+ years equivalent experience
  • 2+ years in vehicle troubleshooting and problem-solving experience
  • Demonstrated hands-on integration experience with automotive electrical interfaces including CAN, ethernet and LIN.
  • Proven track record and drive to do hands-on work such as ECU flashing, vehicle updates and component removal/installation.
  • Strong understanding of major automotive systems and subsystems.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of relevant technologies (eg. EPS, Infotainment, Active Safety, Cybersecurity,)
  • Experience or knowledge of flashing tools.

Responsibilities

  • Flash GM development and fleet vehicles with latest released software.
  • Ensure no vehicles are flashed without proper safety level.
  • Work closely and cross functionally to troubleshoot and ensure successful flashing.
  • Capture BUS logs and troubleshoot flashing and diagnostic trouble code issues.
  • Generate software archives and analyze software build errors to determine root cause.
  • Obtain vehicle part numbers and Diagnostic Trouble Codes pre and post vehicle update.
  • Light vehicle work which could include removing/installing modules, checking fuses, wiring and connectors for continuity.
  • Perform quick vehicle function checks.
  • Submit DTC and part pull information into database and close work tickets.
  • Work will primarily be performed in vehicles located in parking lots.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions and requirements and treat safety as the top priority during all work activities.
  • This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding GM software release process.
  • Solid understanding of the GM development process.
  • Solid understanding of Functional Safety.
  • Good understanding of Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
  • Familiarity with GM software architecture and flashing techniques.
