Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Reinsurance, Actuarial, Catastrophe Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, and/or Financial Risk Management.
  • Excellent communication (oral, written), organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Learning agility and change resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ceded (outbound) and assumed (inbound) reinsurance programs and life reinsurance programs to support business operations, providing protection and taking calculated risks, with the goal of developing a sustainable long-term reinsurance capital structure while pursuing attractive revenue and profit opportunities.
  • Provide expertise and influence to drive property catastrophe risk assessment, models, mitigation, and management.
  • Lead reinsurance contract review, evaluation of risk, placement of reinsurance and claims management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) or Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) designations.
  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), and/or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.
  • Advanced understanding of CSAA IG business strategy.
  • Experience working with product, financial, and/or operational measures and models, business planning, cost-benefit analysis, and senior-level analysis as they apply to business unit and CSAA IG.
  • Expertise in interpretation of reinsurance contracts.
  • Experience with natural catastrophe and capital models.
  • Ability to navigate source data to provide clarity and insight into business behaviors.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Accounting for insurance transactions.
  • Familiarity with finance principles.
