Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field
  • 1-3 years of experience in data analysis or a junior data engineering role
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with experience querying large datasets
  • Basic understanding of data modeling concepts
  • Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data integration
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R) for data manipulation

Responsibilities

  • Help implement and maintain data models within Snowflake, including star schemas and snowflake schemas
  • Assist in developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes under the guidance of the Data Architect
  • Assist in optimizing query performance by identifying inefficient queries and proposing improvements
  • Support data quality initiatives by conducting regular data audits and helping to implement data validation rules
  • Collaborate with the Data Architect to document data flows, data dictionaries, and metadata
  • Manage and support Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives to ensure consistency and accuracy of data
  • Support the implementation of data security measures using Snowflake’s role-based access control (RBAC)
  • Assist in troubleshooting data issues and discrepancies
  • Analyze complex datasets stored in Snowflake to derive actionable business insights
  • Perform ad-hoc data requests and analyses for various business units

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Snowflake’s unique features such as Time Travel and Zero-Copy cloning
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and data quality
  • Preferred experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in an understandable format to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in a specific business domain (e.g., finance, marketing, operations) is a plus
