Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is an asset
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in research administration, funding development, contract review, or project coordination
- Experience with research compliance, financial administration, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of research funding bodies, regulations, and deadlines
- High proficiency in office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases) and web management tools
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
- Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate research grants and contracts, including liaising with researchers to review project budgets, deliverables, and payment schedules.
- Ensure project budgets, research activities, and payment schedules align with institutional and funding agency policies.
- Maintain and oversee a research database for tracking grants and contracts.
- Maintain and update research administration web pages, ensuring accuracy and engagement.
- Collaborate with faculty in preparing research contracts, agreements, and funding applications.
- Stay informed about policy and procedural changes affecting research funding and communicate relevant updates to researchers.
- Generate reports on research funding activity and ensure the accuracy of statistical data.
- Identify and disseminate research funding opportunities and coordinate research funding information sessions.
- Respond to government, industry, and external partner requests regarding research funding requirements.
