Requirements
- Advanced education in Physics or Material Science is required
- Characterization, design or development in electron sources (such as CFE & TFE), electron optics, simulations, SEM systems, vacuum, and electronic instrumentation
- Hands on experience in high voltage, ultra-high vacuum, and electron microscopy
- The position will require a broad ability including simulation, theoretical understanding, and experimental execution
- Comfortable with scripting, Matlab, and statistics packages such as JMP
- Self-starter, work well on teams, and have good interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Generate system requirements documentation and verification test plans
- Communicate system requirements with other specialists including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, and SW requirements
- Identify new technologies to innovate and performance improvement and build roadmaps
- Lead small, cross-disciplinary teams for subsystem development and risk retirement
- Design of experiment for system characterization and critical risk retirement
- Hands on execution of experimental plans, debugging of test setups, analysis, and presentation of results
- Work with outside vendors to source key components as needed. Write and provide Scope-of-Work documentation
- Some travel for vendor or customer engagement
