Requirements
- Must be a licensed registered nurse (RN)
- Must have knowledge of current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care facilities
- Must be able to develop, maintain, and update written policies and procedures
- Must ensure compliance with nursing service procedures and standards
- Must have administrative skills to complete reports and evaluations
- Must have knowledge of safety standards and infection control procedures
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing day-to-day nursing activities
- Participate in developing and maintaining nursing service policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with the Nursing Service Procedures Manual
- Make written and oral reports to the Director as necessary
- Participate in facility surveys and inspections
- Ensure adequate staffing of nursing personnel
- Monitor nursing service personnel performance and compliance
- Participate in developing and implementing quality assurance programs
- Complete accident/incident reports as necessary
- Ensure that nursing service personnel comply with established policies and procedures
