Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in security engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Hands-on experience developing software in C++, Python or similar languages.
  • Proven expertise in hardware security, including secure elements, TPMs, or HSMs.
  • Deep understanding of embedded system security, and secure firmware development.
  • Proficiency in applied cryptography, including symmetric/asymmetric encryption, authentication protocols, and secure key management.
  • Strong knowledge of secure communication protocols (TLS, DTLS, etc.) and network security best practices in distributed, real-time systems.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create a vision and roadmap for best in class security features and frameworks.
  • Lead and mentor a team of security engineers working across hardware, firmware, and network layers.
  • Develop and execute the security architecture strategy for the robotics fleet, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of secure boot processes, trusted execution environments (TEEs), and hardware root-of-trust systems.
  • Define and drive cryptographic key management practices across devices, fleet communications, and backend infrastructure.
  • Establish and maintain secure networking protocols between robots, base stations, and cloud services.
  • Conduct security threat modeling, risk assessments, and vulnerability analysis across the robotics stack.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to build secure development lifecycles (SDL) into product workflows.
  • Respond to security incidents and coordinate mitigation and remediation plans.
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and compliance standards relevant to robotics and IoT.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with secure OTA (over-the-air) updates and software attestation.
  • Understanding of physical and operational security in dynamic environments.
