Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field of study, or experience
- 2+ years of safety experience in aerospace, military, aviation, or general industry
- Knowledgeable with a variety of occupational health & safety standards, EPA, OSHA, and NFPA regulations
- Demonstrated ability to conduct a job hazard analysis, site audits, and incident root cause analysis
- Fluency with data capture, data analytics, spreadsheets, and presentation
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations
- Must be able to pass an occupational physical that includes a hearing and vision test
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate professional and a high-degree of technical competency in the field of aviation safety, mishap prevention, and accident investigation
- Position requires oversight for all matters related to aviation and ground safety, occupational health, and environmental compliance
- Must be able to plan, implement, and coordinate safety and environmental programs in accordance with written regulations, procedures, and policies
- Must be able to identify safety and environmental hazards, risks, and promote the reduction or elimination of potentially hazardous conditions that may lead to accidents, occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and safety-related financial losses
- Required to maintain hazardous material and hazardous waste compliance
- Conducts safety audits, fire extinguisher inspections, and inspections of all first aid kits and other safety related equipment
- Provides instruction to work leaders and employees covering a variety of standard, aviation, general safety, environmental and occupational health subjects including best safety work practices
- Assists in performing Root Cause Analysis to support corrective action processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DCMA INST 8210
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Certifications, including Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST)
