Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5–7 years of software development experience, including at least 1 year in a development-focused leadership role
- 8+ years of experience in developing and supporting high-performance, highly scalable applications in an agile environment, with significant experience on both Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Apex, LWC) and AWS (ECS, Lambda, Fargate, IAM, Terraform, etc.)
- Extensive hands-on experience with the underlying technologies of Salesforce and AWS platforms (programming languages, cloud services, integration patterns)
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies such as Scrum, Lean, XP, and Kanban
- Fluency in DevOps practices across both Salesforce and AWS, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code (IaC), containerization, and monitoring
- Expertise with tools and languages including Node.js, LWC, Apex, Salesforce Flows, SFDX, Terraform, and AWS services like SQS, SNS, API Gateway, ELB, and Pinpoint
- Proficient in using VSCode, Git, and other modern development tools in a Salesforce and AWS context
Responsibilities
- Drives technical priorities and owns delivery and support responsibility for one or more product or platform teams spanning Salesforce and AWS
- Oversees agile development activities for products or platforms built on Salesforce and AWS, and leads the development of key mechanisms that support agile delivery
- Collaborates between interdependent teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and cross-team dependencies, especially across Salesforce and AWS integrations
- Provides hands-on assistance for complex Salesforce and/or AWS technical solutions, operating as a senior engineer when needed
- Engages with other technical stakeholders (operations, enterprise architecture, Salesforce COE, AWS Cloud Ops, etc.) to manage technical requirements; facilitates cost and effort estimation
- Ensures the team accounts for Salesforce platform considerations (e.g., governor limits, flows) and AWS best practices (e.g., scalability, security) in team rituals
- Guides teams in committing to achievable and realistic goals for Salesforce and AWS workstreams, using collaborative estimation and planning techniques
- Leads technical design and architecture across Salesforce and AWS products or platforms, ensuring adherence to security, development, and agile best practices
- Reports on progress and issues to team members and business stakeholders for Salesforce and AWS project delivery
- Develops timelines for work activities, including key Salesforce releases and AWS infrastructure milestones
- Ensures environments and teams are scoped and staffed appropriately for Salesforce and AWS delivery
- Demonstrates creativity and independence in solving platform-specific and integrated challenges across Salesforce and AWS
- Demonstrates ability to assimilate new knowledge and technologies in the Salesforce and AWS ecosystems
- Owns end-to-end technical solution delivery leveraging Salesforce CRM capabilities and AWS cloud services
- Leads workshops to gather business requirements and design solutions across both Salesforce (e.g., Service Cloud, Experience Cloud) and AWS (e.g., API Gateway, Lambda)
- Resolves escalated issues related to Salesforce and AWS implementations; coaches teams through conflict and crisis scenarios
- Adapts to platform updates and ecosystem changes quickly, including Salesforce seasonal releases and AWS service updates
- Delegates work and sets priorities aligned to both strategic business objectives and Salesforce/AWS delivery goals
- Ensures projects align with broader digital transformation strategy involving Salesforce and AWS platforms
- Responsible for a portfolio of solutions leveraging Salesforce and AWS technologies and associated success metrics
- Develops staffing plans for technical resources across Salesforce and AWS domains
- Partners with senior leadership and finance teams to develop IT business cases involving Salesforce and AWS investments
- Makes data-driven decisions considering financial implications of Salesforce licensing and AWS infrastructure usage
- Communicates effectively with both technical and business stakeholders across Salesforce and AWS teams
- Delivers technical presentations to various audiences with a focus on Salesforce CRM and AWS infrastructure solutions
- Synthesizes data and insights from Salesforce orgs and AWS environments to inform planning and improvements
- Identifies and mitigates risks associated with Salesforce limits, AWS service limits, platform security, and integrations
- Serves as an internal authority and thought leader in both the Salesforce and AWS spaces
