Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Completed postdoctoral training.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in postdoctoral training program management or a related role within a biomedical research environment.
  • Familiarity with NIH guidelines and other relevant standards for postdoctoral training.
  • Experience in scientific communication and public outreach.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive postdoctoral training programs tailored to the center’s research goals and fellows’ needs.
  • Facilitate effective mentor-mentee relationships, providing guidelines and training for mentors, and regularly evaluating mentorship effectiveness.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of training curricula, including workshops, seminars, and courses, ensuring alignment with NIH guidelines and standards.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new postdoctoral fellows, including orientation sessions and integration into the research community.
  • Provide career guidance and support, including the development of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and organizing career development workshops and seminars.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and audits of postdoctoral training programs to ensure quality and compliance with institutional and funding agency standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of training-related grants, including progress reports, budget oversight, and coordination of grant-related activities.
  • Maintain and enhance scientific communication channels, including newsletters, reports, and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Foster collaborations with other research institutions, industry partners, and funding agencies to enhance training opportunities and program visibility.
  • Organize and manage events such as symposiums, conferences, and networking sessions to promote professional development and community building among postdoctoral fellows.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to postdoctoral training and career development, ensuring compliance with institutional, federal, and funding agency regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
