Requirements

  • Currently hold a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
  • SAFe Scrum Master/Advanced Scrum Master (preferred) or Scrum Master Certification (CSM)
  • Experience with Jira & Confluence: user story creation, backlog management, reports generation and metrics analysis
  • Excellent communication skills in the areas of listening, speaking, written and non-verbal communications

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate team-level Agile ceremonies such as Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Backlog Refinement, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Guide the team in becoming high-performing, self-organizing, and self-managing within the context of the ART.
  • Actively participate in and support ART-level events such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums (SoS), Inspect & Adapt (I&A), and System Demos.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the team and Release Train Engineer (RTE), ensuring alignment with ART objectives and cadence.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and teams to support backlog refinement, story writing, and estimation, ensuring alignment to PI objectives and business value delivery.
  • Identify, escalate, and help remove systemic impediments through collaboration with other Scrum Masters, RTEs, and functional managers.
  • Foster transparency and synchronization by radiating information via Jira, Confluence, and other SAFe tooling (e.g., VersionOne, Rally).
  • Track and communicate Agile metrics (velocity, sprint/iteration burndown, team health, etc.) to promote empirical decision-making.
  • Promote a Lean-Agile mindset and SAFe Core Values by coaching team members, stakeholders, and leaders on Agile and SAFe principles and practices.
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination and dependency management in collaboration with other Scrum Masters and the RTE.
  • Champion relentless improvement by supporting team and ART-level retrospective outcomes and facilitating actionable follow-up.
  • Act as a servant leader and Agile coach, continuously mentoring team members in Agile practices and principles.
  • Encourage alignment with Team and ART-level Objectives, ensuring the team is working toward shared outcomes and delivering value every Program Increment (PI).
  • Leverage an engaging and approachable demeanor to build trust, motivate teams, and foster a safe environment for open communication and feedback.
  • Bring positive energy and emotional intelligence to team interactions, helping to navigate conflict, celebrate wins, and cultivate psychological safety.
