Senior Accountant

Requirements

• 10+ years’ accounting experience conducting business with large financial and accounting systems.
• Prefer accounting experience in a government-contracting environment and working knowledge of the compliance requirements in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
• Familiarity with the various forms of revenue recognition, financial statement review, and long-term project accounting.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly in the use of MS Excel, and financial systems and tools such as Deltek Costpoint and TM1.
• Ability to independently create and accurately analyze cost data.
• Ability to apply accounting principles as it relates to GAAP.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to support the preparation and presentation of written briefs and summaries for executive communication.
• CPA/CMA Required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting expertise in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns (property, sales, income), and ensure an effective internal control environment.
• Ensure compliance with technical accounting requirements with existing and new regulations, such as long term lease and derivative accounting.
• Provide financial system maintenance, support of system upgrades and new system implementations.
