Senior Accountant

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration/business economics with an emphasis in accounting required
CPA preferred
5+ years accounting experience in both public accounting and/or as a Senior Accountant in a corporate environment preferred
Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills; Google Suite knowledge
Proficiency with accounting software; Oracle Cloud Financials and Oracle EPM a plus
System experience with Concur Expense/Travel a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Ability to apply common sense understanding to multiple tasks, analyze and solve practical problems, prioritize tasks and projects, work both independently and as part of a team, and adapt to frequent changes in the work environment.

Subject matter expert on accounting for key areas of business
Create key journal entries for accruals and other transactions
Analyze and reconcile key accounts and maintain account balances
Document and maintain company accounting procedures and processes
Comply with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements including researching accounting issues
Knowledge of Canadian accounting practices is a plus
Collaborate with FP&A and business partners to properly report business transactions
Develop and document procedures to improve efficiency
Report and forecast cash activity
Provide support for year-end financial audits
Provide support and prepare schedules for the tax team for annual taxes and other tax projects
Manage general ledger and assist with month-end/year-end close processes
Ensure compliance with all internal SOX processes.

Knowledge of Canadian accounting practices is a plus
