Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree; preferably with a concentration in finance, economics, or related discipline
  • 2-4 of relevant work experience
  • Self-starter with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize daily processes, ad-hoc requests, and any issues escalated by clients or other parties
  • Intermediate or higher Excel proficiency
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • High level of computer literacy, and capability to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Ability to comprehend the importance of data security and comply with firm wide procedures
  • Knowledge of financial products such as equities, options, futures, mutual funds, collateral, and bonds
  • Experience and/or familiarity with market vendor products, such as, Bloomberg, DTCC, Omgeo, etc.
  • Familiarity with SWIFT messaging

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients, brokers, custodians and prime brokers to resolve any issues, and to ensure on time confirmation and settlement of trades, FX spots and forwards, and other transactions
  • Research market standards and practices, in order to ensure stored client and broker data is up to date, and outgoing SWIFT messages are in compliance with the latest best practices
  • Inform and instruct the necessary parties of ad-hoc and daily cash and security movements related to collateral and variation margin movements
  • Identify potential issues, and escalate to the appropriate parties, both internal and external, in a timely manner
  • Maintain all team procedures to ensure they are updated, completed, and maintained across all clients and processes
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Research and inform impacted parties of any upcoming market and regulatory requirements and changes
  • Identify processes or other areas in need of improvement, and work with technology and the other relevant parties to develop, test, and execute the necessary changes
  • Understand and mitigate risk associated with late settlement of cash and securities transactions including market penalties, buy-ins, claims, etc.
  • Perform adequate due diligence to completely resolve all issues, in a timely manner, in order to avoid any financial or reputational impact
  • Compile and prepare wire transfer instructions for fund expenses and investments in accordance with fund manager instructions
  • Maintain and update vendor and counterparty wire instructions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in learning about foreign markets and global market practices
