Requirements
- Skills comparable to two years of experience programming complete Crestron systems, capable of independently developing systems from start to finish
- Strong understanding of Crestron GUI design and user interface development
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and test complex integrated AV systems
- Working knowledge of computer networking concepts and AV-over-IP technologies relevant to AV system deployment
- Solid understanding of integrated AV system components in educational or enterprise environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Create control system programming designs to meet requirements and system capabilities. Read and interpret AV systems drawings. Gather programming requirements. Produce new modules and interfaces.
- Create user interface programming to meet requirements and system capabilities. Install control programs and touch panel design onsite, offsite, and remotely in physical systems. Mentor junior AV Systems programmers.
- Perform commissioning and acceptance testing of code. Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting as needed. Demonstrate completed system to clients. Create programming-related documentation. Maintain and update programming and code in installed systems. Maintain control code in version control repositories. Travel to various job sites required.
- Provide Tier 3 assistance to the Classroom Help Desk group as directed.
- Develop systems, with the assistance of STAs, to implement modern programming languages and frameworks for use with current and future control system hardware. Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise level software tools and asset management systems that will assist with the Technology Projects Team.
- With the assistance of STAs, implement a system to ensure all the possible hardware configuration is completed before the device is installed by the installation team.
- Other related functions are assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of Crestron 201 training.
- Completion of Crestron 301 training and/or Crestron Certified Programmer (CCP).
- Strong Proficiency in Crestron development tools and programming languages
- Experience with HTML5 and C# programming
- Crestron Digital Media Engineer Certification or Crestron NVX Certification;
- Experience programming, deploying and supporting AV-over-IP systems.
- AVIXA CTS, CTS-I or CTS-D certification.
- Knowledge of DSP system configuration and deployment, utilizing products from manufacturers such as Biamp, QSYS, and Shure
- Knowledge of AV protocols and standards, including TCP/IP, UDP, Dante, AES-67, RS-232, RS-485, USB and HDMI.
- Experience with AV equipment and components, including unified communication & collaboration systems, displays, audio processors, microphones, and speakers.
- Ability to read and interpret AV system designs, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Ability to develop Crestron code for specific manufacturers control API’s
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and maintain a continuous learning mindset.
- Professional experience in a university or large-scale enterprise environment.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to AV installation or support team members.
