Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, systems administration, or equivalent roles, with a strong focus on AWS technologies.
- 5+ years of experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and automation.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS Security, Network Controls, and FedRAMP compliance requirements.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell for infrastructure automation.
- Experience implementing cost-effective, FinOps-aligned cloud solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
- Proven track record of working effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in collaboration with team members.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a passion for identifying innovative, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present recommendations to senior leadership and customers.
- Strong technical documentation skills for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- AWS Associate Certification required, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Associate.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of processes and capabilities to advance hybrid-cloud strategies for KBR’s customers.
- Collaborate with solution architects and cross-functional design teams to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective hybrid-cloud solutions in a FedRAMP high environment.
- Develop and maintain tools for provisioning, monitoring, auditing, and de-provisioning hybrid-cloud infrastructure using Python, Ansible, and other automation tools.
- Partner with architects and engineers to design networks, systems, and storage environments aligned with customer needs, security requirements, and service-level objectives.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure technologies using industry-standard tools like Jenkins and GitLab Runners.
- Incorporate FinOps principles into hybrid-cloud strategies, ensuring cost optimization, resource accountability, and operational efficiency.
- Design and implement scalable software services in collaboration with engineering and architecture teams.
- Troubleshoot and provide support for core business applications within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
- Develop strategic road maps and project implementation plans tailored to customer requirements.
- Identify and present recommendations for cost savings, security improvements, and best practices across AWS services and compliance requirements.
- Address complex technical challenges, providing actionable solutions to senior leadership.
- Mentor and lead junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Professional Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional).
- AWS Specialty Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty).
- Experience engineering and deploying public sector solutions.
- Expertise with AWS services such as S3, CloudFront, EKS, Lambda, Aurora Serverless DB, and AWS Batch.
- Experience incorporating FinOps principles into cloud strategies.
