Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute communication plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive corporate communication strategies to support HackerOne’s brand positioning and business goals.
  • Manage external communication channels, including press releases, blog posts, social media, and thought leadership content.
  • Cultivate relationships with key media outlets, influencers, and industry stakeholders to secure media coverage and speaking opportunities.
  • Oversee crisis communication efforts, including preparing messaging, coordinating response activities, and managing media inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, sales, and legal, to ensure consistent messaging and brand voice.
  • Support executive communication initiatives, including speech writing, presentation development, and media training.
  • Manage the relationship with our PR agency, providing strategic direction, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication initiatives, including media coverage, social media engagement, and brand sentiment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with AI-powered communications tools—particularly Jasper AI—for content creation, summarization, and personalization.
  • Extensive media relations experience, with a deep network of media contacts and proven success in securing media coverage.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity or technology industry trends and issues is a plus.
