Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in process automation, machine building, or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in system design using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Expertise in programming and development software, including Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens development tools.
- Strong skills in designing, programming, testing, and commissioning control systems such as PLCs, HMI, DCS, and SCADA.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical procedures and documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address complex and non-standardized challenges.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Creative and innovative approach to solving engineering challenges.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers, project managers, and team members to define, document, and understand project requirements.
- Design and develop electrical and pneumatic control systems, using AutoCAD Electrical for schematic and drawing development.
- Develop a bill of control materials, solicit vendor quotes, and order parts.
- Architect, write, and debug PLC code with an emphasis on generating organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable code.
- Develop HMI screens that simplify the understanding, operation, and troubleshooting of complex automation projects.
- Lead debugging efforts for hardware and software, including factory acceptance testing and on-site debugging as needed.
- Ensure designs are functional, robust, and cost-effective, adhering to established standards, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Apply project management skills to maintain project scope, identify scope creep, and meet budget and schedule requirements.
- Participate in design reviews, installations, and service calls, collaborating with the trades and suppliers to resolve design and software issues.
- Update and maintain all relevant documentation, including electrical schematics, flow diagrams, panel layouts, and software requirements.
- Conduct site acceptance tests at customers’ facilities as necessary.
- Support the installation of equipment and provide on-site debugging when necessary.
- Adhere to established control standards and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated industry experience, either in addition to or as a substitute for formal qualifications.
- Experience in process control systems, particularly in food or pharmaceutical industries, is a plus.
