Requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience at a law firm or in-house at a reputable company, with a focus on commercial contracting
- Law degree from an accredited law school
- Member of the Bar of a Canadian province or US state
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to handle a high volume of work with competing priorities
- Strong negotiation and project management skills
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements with clients from all industry sectors
- Advise on legal, regulatory, and business risks related to the Marsh & Mercer US business
- Contribute to and reinforce the Marsh McLennan Legal, Compliance & Public Affairs (“LCPA”) Department’s Strategic Plan and initiatives that impact the LCPA organization
- Demonstrate strong written and oral communications skills
- Collaborate effectively with business, operations and legal and compliance colleagues
- Promote an ethical culture where employees are encouraged to voice their concerns and opinions
- Exercise sound judgment
Preferred Qualifications
- A strong desire to be a commercial contracting specialist
- Prior US experience
- A self-starter capable of working independently, while part of a collegial team
