Requirements

  • At least 5 years experience in a relevant role such as Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Solution Architecture across a technical product.
  • Experience selling Enterprise software solutions and familiarity with the Enterprise process selling motions.
  • Innate curiosity to understand customer problems and motivations.
  • Well versed in back end infrastructure architecture.
  • Very technically inclined with a propensity to code and/or hack code.
  • Experience writing code in one of the following: JavaScript, Python, Java, Go.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, specifically across technical presentations and product demonstrations; ability to influence and excite a technical audience.
  • Working knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle and concepts such as continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Ability to speak fluently with developer champions and users.
  • Strategic mindset to identify opportunities and potential solutions to solve both internal and external problems or gaps.
  • Enjoy building tools, templates, and technical enablement collateral.
  • Organized approach to work with demonstrated ability to manage concurrent opportunities and use data for decision-making.
  • Willingness to learn new skills to solve problems that benefit or unblock a deal.
  • Ability to work well independently.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about products, value propositions, customers, team, and processes within the first month.
  • Set up a fully configured sandbox instance.
  • Build trusting relationships with peers on Sales, Value Engineering, Post-sales Success, and Support teams.
  • Join customer and prospect calls to understand their needs and communicate the value of Sourcegraph.
  • Get demo certified within the first month.
  • Take ownership of more prospective relationships partnering with up to three Account Executives (AEs) within three months.
  • Lead early-stage conversations with prospective customers and delve into their technical needs.
  • Serve as an advocate for customers by providing insights and feedback to internal teams.
  • Identify opportunities to help propose and deliver solutions based on past experience and observations.
  • Participate in Solutions Engineer-led projects to mature capabilities and positively impact business and customers.
  • Establish oneself as a thought leader and evangelist by teaching prospective customers new ways to get value from Sourcegraph within six months.
  • Mentor, recruit, and train teammates, prospects, and new hires.
