Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL 2016 or newer. Duties could include those listed above
- 3+ years of Windows Server experience. Duties could include patching, managing access, troubleshooting performance, etc.
- Experience with cloud-hosted databases, both native and virtual
- A 2 year computer technology degree or equivalent work experience required
Responsibilities
- Managing SQL Server & Database access
- Monitor and respond to SQL server performance degradation
- Make optimization recommendations to SQL queries
- Troubleshoot issues with applications connecting to SQL databases
- Perform SQL server and database maintenance
- Monitor database backups
- Respond to capacity issues on database servers
- Perform SQL upgrades and Server migrations
- Research, review, and test new versions of database platforms
- Engaged with all major issues related to database platforms, reviewing for faster future resolution
- Design complex solutions, partnering with other Technology groups
- Research emerging technologies
- Mentor other members of the team
- Participate in an on-call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- CentOS/RHEL/Oracle Linux experience preferred
- Postgres experience preferred
