Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 15 years of experience in top-tier architecture or interior design firms, specializing in medium-to-large-scale workplace fit-outs
- Strong expertise in interior fit-out design and development, with a solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
- Construction Administration and on-site field experience required
- Excellent interpersonal, spoken, and written communication skills
- Experience in cost and schedule management
- In-depth knowledge of architectural, engineering, and construction documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
- CAD and 3D software experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, Procore, or similar PMIS platforms
Responsibilities
- Oversee workplace and interior fit-out projects in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with prestigious clients and consultants to achieve design excellence
- Lead the development of commercial office interiors through all project phases—Programming, Concept, SD, DD, CD, and CA—utilizing meetings, workshops, and reviews to ensure well-coordinated documentation
- Apply comprehensive design and engineering expertise to manage projects efficiently
- Maintain a hands-on approach, balancing strategy with attention to detail, and ensuring quality control throughout the design and construction processes
- Provide high-level client service, leveraging strong interpersonal and communication skills to address complex challenges. Executive-level reporting required
- Demonstrate initiative, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving in design management
- Supervise and guide a design management team to ensure project success
- Develop management deliverables, including presentations, reports, tables, meeting minutes, and logs
- Oversee consultant onboarding, from RFQs and RFPs to interviews, evaluations, contract agreements, and awards
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequences to inform project execution
- Conduct rigorous design and engineering document reviews and analyses
- Support cost and schedule management, ensuring project efficiency
- Assist in business development efforts and participate in project-related travel along the East Coast
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience in hospitality and residential design is a plus
- Architectural core & shell experience is a plus
