Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in program management, with a focus on technology and software development.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, with responsibility for managing a team of program managers or similar professionals.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex technology projects and programs on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address issues and risks proactively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques, such as JIRA, Microsoft Project, or Asana.
  • Familiarity with Walmart’s technology and software development environment, or similar retail or e-commerce environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of technical program managers, providing guidance, support, and resources to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Develop and implement effective program management processes, procedures, and tools to ensure consistency and efficiency across the department.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and business stakeholders, to define program requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines to ensure successful delivery of programs.
  • Ensure programs are delivered in accordance with Walmart’s code of conduct and ethical standards, and that all stakeholders are aware of and adhere to these standards.
  • Monitor and report on program progress, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may impact program success.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, engineers, and external partners, to ensure alignment and buy-in for program initiatives.
  • Continuously improve program management processes and practices to drive efficiency, quality, and innovation.
  • Lead and manage the development of departmental policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with Walmart’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members to help them grow and develop in their roles.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and coordination of efforts, and to leverage resources and expertise to achieve shared goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Project Management.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 6 years’ experience in product design.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
